# agent.startRun()

> Public low-code contract, signatures and examples for agent.startRun.

## `agent.startRun()`

Starts a new agent run.

Notes:

* Unavailable with `readOnly: true` (throws an error).

### Signature

static startRun(agentId: string, data: AgentRunInput): Promise<AgentRun>;
```

### Example

const run = await agent.startRun(agentId, {
