# api.incrementInstanceCache()

## `api.incrementInstanceCache()`

Atomically increments an integer cache key.

Notes:

* Unavailable with `readOnly: true` (throws an error).
* 'by' must be an integer.

### Signature

```ts theme={null}
static incrementInstanceCache(
      key: string,
      by?: number,
      seconds?: number,
    ): Promise<number>;
```

### Example

```ts theme={null}
const count = await api.incrementInstanceCache('sync:counter', 1, 300);
```
