# api.releaseConcurrencyLimit()

## `api.releaseConcurrencyLimit()`

Atomically releases one acquired concurrency slot, preserving slots held by other workers.

Notes:

* Releases only a slot acquired by this runtime invocation; a missing local ownership token is a no-op.
* For a slot acquired with leaseOwnerId, pass that same owner to release it from another SDK request.
* Call exactly once after a successful admission; do not release after admission returned false.
* Owner fencing prevents late cleanup from releasing a slot acquired by another invocation.
* Each invocation may acquire several slots; each release consumes one of its own tokens.
* Unavailable with `readOnly: true` (throws an error).
