# api.restoreDatabase()

> Public low-code contract, signatures and examples for api.restoreDatabase.

## `api.restoreDatabase()`

Restores a deleted logical database by its original name.
The name must identify exactly one accessible deleted database; for ambiguous
names select the database by ID through REST or the UI. Strings always mean names.

Notes:

* Unavailable with `readOnly: true` (throws an error).

### Signature

```ts theme={null}
static restoreDatabase(name: string): Promise<void>;
```

### Example

```ts theme={null}
await api.restoreDatabase('orders');
```
