# api.setInstanceCache()

## `api.setInstanceCache()`

Writes instance-scoped cache.

Notes:

* Unavailable with `readOnly: true` (throws an error).

### Signature

```

### Example

```ts theme={null}
await api.setInstanceCache('sync:state', { step: 'loading' }, 300);
