A binding maps one action argument to a literal value or a reference. Bindings are JSON data; the browser does not evaluate JavaScript expressions inside them.

Reference fields

Paths use dots, such as row.customer.id. They are not expressions: row.total * 2 and rows[0].id do not evaluate. A missing value causes a binding error; compute derived values in the source or receiving Component. Reserved object-prototype paths are rejected.

Input versus set

This action fragment passes an existing quantity control into a registered submitOrder executor:
Use set on REFRESH to update existing INPUT state before rereading a view. It does not create controls or edit the saved source configuration. Use input on EXECUTE or OPEN_WIDGET to supply the registered target’s arguments. Binding keys follow the ID rules. A map accepts up to 100 entries. Literal strings are limited to 4000 characters and scalar arrays to 5000 items. See actions for target-specific fields.
